The Rest of the Robots I actually preferred over I Robot.

The lost robot making a dissento out of old radio parts was a fun story.

My favorite science fiction author is Andre Norton. Her writing is a bit juvenile and the style isn't on the level of Heinlein or Bradbury, but I love her stories and characters. I've read over 80 of her books.

Heinlein and Asimov are my favorite sci fi authors. Starship Troopers is just a classic

Kurt Vonnegut is one of mine. Slaughter House Five. Another classic.

Larry Niven and Jerry Pernelle too.

I'm not that fond of Vonnegut, but I like Niven and Pournelle. I really like H. Beam Piper and E.E. Doc Smith. I sorta like Arthur C. Clark and Ray Bradbury. Even though I mostly read Sci-Fi, I have read about 30 of the top 100 novels.

    Try this one.

Lord of Light, by Roger Zelazny. It's an oldie but the mix between sci-fi and mysticism and religion is quite interesting.

I'll have to read that one.

Here are a few. They are usually "chick" (as my wife calls them) books, but I thought they were a fun easy read.

Crystal Singer series by anne McCaffrey, and her series The Dragon Riders of Pern.

A great sci-fi book is "Mission of Gravity" by Hal Clement. Interesting story written from the alien's point of view.

I really liked the story. I wished there was a sequel.

The "Dragon Riders of Pern" is a great series. The last book in the series I read was "The White Dragon". I never got around to reading "The Harpers of Pern". Another series by her that I liked is "The Ship Who Sang".

They made a miniseries of The Wizard of Earthsea, but it didn't do justice to the books.

adaptation are USUALLY bad, yeah. Just look at the DOOM movie, the Eragon movie, the HALO tv show. They all have something in common; they suck lol

Stanley Kubrick's 2001 was done exceptionally well in the screen adaption.

Totally a mess when they did 2010 into a movie.

Herbert's "Dune" was "meh" as a movie. Neither good or bad.

Steven King's screen adaptations have never done the book justice. Though 3 were good. Pet Cemetary (the best one done into a movie), IT, and
    Maximum Overdrive.

On the fence about Misery. Christine was done too cheap to be anything like the book.

I said USUALLY, not "ALWAYS" lol
Denis Villeneuve's Dune adaptation was a MASTERPIECE after all
And Kubrik's 2001 was nice too
    Pet Cemetary was nice
