And now it is an excuse to not prosecute Priests for Obstruction.

The real problem there is that we have a Jury of our "Peers". But those peers, like it or not, are the X people who could not figure out how to get out of Jury Duty.

To be fair, it wasn't just the Catholic church. The residential schools were also run by the Anglican and United church..
The Catholic ones were by far the most numerous, and the most notorious.
Financial compensation settlements have been reached with most all of the religious groups responsible, the Anglicans and United (I think also Presbyterian, not sure on that one) made good on their financial commitments.
The Catholic church said it wasn't liable, it was the individual diocese, who in turn pleaded they were broke. Little if any money was paid out, leading to the courts ordering all property, mostly real estate, to be seized and auctioned off.
You can buy a cathedral in St Johns as we speak. Not sure what you'd do with it?
That's how these buggers operate, the Vatican offers apologies and fuck all else.

The pope is in Nunavit today. Maybe somebody will mistake him for a seal.

Well, the missionary didn't quote that from when he went.
BUT! That was the general response in meaning.

As I said to him, and he agreed.
"The wrongs done to the Canadians at the hands of so called "good Christians", are proof that
Christianity has been modified to the wants of the men who claim to preach the Gospel, but
are in fact, men who know, "There is a lot of money in the "God Business"."

There was a preacher who , with what his wife was wearing, who was the pastor of a Bronx church, was robbed
Sunday of over $ 1 million in jewelry his wife and he were wearing.

He was known for driving a Rolls Royce and hob-nobbing with the local politicians.

I find it amazing that the members of that church keep giving money to a man who uses money given
to do Christ's work is just going into his bank account and a lavish life of living.

According to Science Alert, Guinea Worm parasite and polio are on their way out! There have only been a handful of recorded cases of each since 2017.

    WE are making strides!

Good to know there are those in the medical field who devote their life work to making sure that parents have children
with the knowledge of a hopeful future without life debilitating diseases.

You don't have to be Catholic.

It is the non-Catholic who have made the most $ individually.
The RCC enacted the "Rule of Poverty" in order to get what the priests were getting in Wills and Testaments.
The RCC priests were getting rich without the money (a lot of land) not going to the Vatican.
So, the new rule was that everything received by a priest was the property of the Vatican and the priests
were allowed only what the Vatican gave them for their service.

and to be fair, the Boarding Schools were opened because the Federal GOvernment asked for it, its not the Church that decided to do them all of a sudden. But Clown Trudeau is kinda good to make people blame the wrong people lol

Didnt Wolsey, Cranmer and many others in England before and after the break have PALACES? Royal incomes?

    They were Anglican.
The church started by Henry VIII because the pope would not grant him a divorce.
So he made himself head of the state church, and granted himself a divorce.

The RCC's Vow of Poverty was enacted in the 13th century.

Not for the properties of the RCC.
Up till then priests were allowed to be married and own land/property.
Parishioners at times, loved their pastor so much they would make them sole heir of their estate, which in turn, the priests would
leave everything to their wives and children.
Priests and the survivor families were the major private land owners then.

The poor you speak of, actually ate the scraps and picked through the garbage of the rectories which housed as many as 20 or more of
priests, brothers, and those seeking to take the vow as well as a few laity.

Those in the rectory had first pick over the farms and flocks in their respective parish. Which of course, the laity were forced to
give them only their best. (Because they were actually giving to God, you know:rolleyes:)

But the before then, priests had their own houses instead of a parsonage (a church/parish supported home, owned by the church).
They were almost always married and had a growing estate.
That all came to an end in 1248 AD when the vatican enacted the Vow of Celibacy that unmarried priests, and all those aspiring to
be a priest, had to take.

The Vatican then began quickly as possible to have the married priest's estates liquidated as soon as the priest either left their
position (usually because off health and of course because of death), and the proceeds taken by the Vatican.
The priests families were usually given a small stipend or compensation for their land/properties.

For 13 years, the International Day of the Female Orgasm has been celebrated on August 8, a celebration that was born in Esperantina (Brazil). José Arimateia Dantas, a town councilor, discovered that 28% of women in that region were unable to reach orgasm. Many women never have an orgasm, because the man focuses on his own pleasure and forgets his partner, but also the lack of knowledge that women have about their body and what gives them pleasure.

Over time, and thanks to the internet, the International Female Orgasm Day became popular and is now a date that is celebrated all over the world. The objective of this day is to make women aware of the importance of getting to know each other and exploring their body, to find out what things they like, give them pleasure or are not suitable for them, but above all to strengthen their self-esteem.

    Benefits of orgasm in women;

    • Currently it has been discovered that having a healthy sexual life full of several orgasms can influence a woman's mental health, avoiding diseases such as senile dementia, Alzheimer's or any other brain disease.
    • Orgasm can also be an excellent therapy if you suffer from migraines or any type of headaches.
    • During an orgasm, a woman increases her pain threshold by 107%, which would be equivalent to suffering a bone fracture and not knowing it.
    • Orgasms also influence a woman's levels of happiness, as they make her a much more self-confident person who knows her abilities and limitations perfectly.
    • Orgasm has many other benefits: it reduces stress, promotes sleep, improves your blood flow as it is an aerobic activity, improves skin and makes you feel younger.

Olivia Newton-John, Sandy in 'Grease', dies at 73, may she rest in peace.
For our parents it was always a film that made them feel modern and young.
