What sort of spider, I'm almost too scared to ask?

 

t's a species from that particular country, I don't remember the name of the spider, but I can tell you they were huge, or maybe it was my repulsion that made the spiders very big. When our parents died my sister went into a deep depression with terrible ideas. The first option I had was to put her in hospital and pump her body full of medication, but I refused. Our family doctor, a childhood friend of our father's, advised me to travel, to change my routine for a while, to live new experiences. In the restaurant, when we jokingly talked about eating spiders, my sister smiled. After many months without smiling, it was the second time she smiled. The first time was in Australia, while hugging a koala bear. Seeing her smile I kept insisting on the spiders and we came to the bet and then, just to enjoy her beautiful smile of life, we came to the challenge. The owner of the restaurant offered us the possibility of various sauces, to make the experience more enjoyable, but we declined. A challenge must be lived without consolation of any kind. The whole restaurant was silent, nobody believed that two girls from Europe would eat spiders. The owner of the restaurant said that the taste was like chicken, but it is a lie. A spider tastes like a spider and you feel the spider in your mouth, its shell, its legs. But we ate, my sister ate one spider and I ate another. It's an experience I would never live again, I just wanted to prolong the smile of my sister's life.

 

Probably a truer word has never been spoken. My brother would do the same for me, without doubt!
