Oh damn, the Relativity Space Terran 1 rocket is 3D printed?
Hope the launch will be successful!

    So .... ?

What's the point of 3D printing a "steel tube with some fancy other things attached to it"?

I don't know the details of relativity's rocket off hand, but 3D printing is able to create hollow honeycomb structures that are much lighter for their strength than possible with traditional manufacturing techniques... And weight is EVERYTHING in space engineering.

Interesting to hear about that. Gotta check that.
Have you checked that program where they spin the rocket in centrifuge and sling it high before ignition? Spin launch or something.

the rocket is made of an alloy of nickel and iron that the 3D printer can do. Its kinda cool, and it cost less. So it would make space exploration cost less, allowing the USA to send MORE things in space, and maybe even (I know I am a dreamer) to one day settle the moon or Mars
