    8 + 8 = 91​

    Unfortunately we monks are also humans (despite what some people think) and humans make mistakes.
    Through history more mistakes were made by making copies.

    There is indeed "celibate" instead of "celibrate".

    But there is also a monk who made the following mistake:
    For the 2nd amandment he wrote instead of
    ... the freedom for people to bare arms.
    the following:
    ... the freedom for people to bear arms.

    OK, The answer to the initial problem is that by keeping the same font the equation should be turned upside down and reversed.


    Thus 8 + 8 =91 ​
    ​
    becomes ​
    ​
    16 = 8 + 8​
