Looks like our current governor has had enough of this shit. So glad to see it too. Hopefully President Trump has too and will finally put a stop to this. Lets start enforcing our immigration laws again. Just so it's clear they are braking the law so they are illegal immigrants.

Decrying 'sanctuary cities,' Texas Gov. Greg Abbott threatens to cut millions to Travis County
    Lauren McGaughy, Austin bureau
AUSTIN – Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has threatened to cut millions to Travis County over the local sheriff's pledge that it will no longer fully cooperate with federal immigration officials.
Sheriff Sally Hernandez, a Democrat elected in November, said Friday her department would stop honoring all federal requests to detain suspects who might be in the United States illegally, the Austin-American Statesman first reported.
Only those who commit a crime like capital murder, aggravated sexual assault or people smuggling will be turned over to U.S. Customs and Immigration Officials, Hernandez said, setting off a tweet storm from Abbott, who pledged to cut off funding to the county. "Stiffer penalties coming," Abbott warned.
The governor has threatened to cut off funding to any Texas city that follows through with so-called sanctuary city policies, in which local law enforcement officials refuse to comply with federal requests to detain inmates who might be in the county illegally.
Abbott has the power to cut off at least $1.8 million in grant funding to Travis County, according to the Statesman. That money helps pay for the county's veterans court and crime victims services.
Hernandez ran on the promise that she would stop detaining all potentially undocumented immigrants arrested in Travis County, which includes the state capital, Austin. Abbott's threat was issued hours after the swearing in of Donald Trump, who has promised to cut federal funding to sanctuary cities.
While Travis County might be the first to lose funding over its immigration policies, it's not the first time the governor has threatened to cut money from the state coffers.
Last year, Abbott tussled with Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez over minor changes to the county's immigration policies. State funding to Valdez's stop has remained in place, but Abbott has pledged to formally outlaw sanctuary cities during this year's legislative session.

Ok. I served time in the Federal Prosecutor game. I agree that sanctuary cities should not refuse to hold them. That said, I would not disagree with cities that say "We will hold them for 24 hours. That is enough time to come and get them. We are not paying to hold them till you get around to it or investigate while we house them."

Also a note. Everyone focuses on the Latin "illegals". Here in NY we have a much bigger issue with Asian and Eastern European. RUSSIANS more than any other.
