Circumcised?

I am intrigued. How is this still a thing? I know it's a Jewish custom and priscribed by God in the Thora, but why would any non-Jewish ppl do that to their kids? In Christianity Jesus said that it is not important if a man is circumcised or not. I guess Muslims do it too? Since Islam is an Abrahamic faith, based on Jewish Old Testament.
To me, this is akin to FGM, which is an even more horrendous practice, that still happens widely in African communities.

 

The only reason to have it done now is if you have Phimosis. I was done when I was a baby but we didn't want to do it to my son. As he developed he has had some trouble with it being too tight and we wonder if we should have done it.
I think it was more just tradition, easier to keep it clean back when personal hygiene wasn't as good as it is nownand it just kept getting passed down the line. So if a dad was circumcised then he wanted his son to be like him

I am sure it would be fine if not - just adapt to it

 

I think like a lot of things, a little variety can be nice sometimes.

 

I have learned life is meant to be enjoyed and being curious or willing to try new things - if comfortable enough - is worth doing

Applies to womens figures - variety is the spice of life as well

 

Circumcised, I prefer it. I had my son circumcised for as hygiene as well.

Not circumcised, and it's absolutely no problem to keep it clean and not "smelly". I wonder what kind of guys would let that happen...??
