The RCC and the Southern Baptist Conference and American Baptist Conference and all other organized religions
fall into that category of organized religion.
Only the independent churches are not.

Al the organized religions are stated in the Bible as the Nicolaitans.

They are any church that has a hierarchy. That is a governing body, and a laic body which is directed by what the governing
body says to believe, without question.
An independent church has a bishop (Pastor) who does not put himself above the congregation, but as one of the congregation.
Another "sheep" if you will as Christ is the "Shepherd".
But in a position to help the congregation in the understanding of Scripture with an emphasis to study on their own.

The organized churches tell the the congregation what to believe. That the clergy's responsibility is to make the congregation
believe the churches understanding of the Scriptures and the clergy has any and all final say on the interpretations of Scripture.

It is problematic perhaps even to generalise independent churches, as there are still many with their own power structures, with the preacher and/or "elders" of the church putting themselves in a position of authority that must not be opposed.

That is 100% true. And their actions have proven that every time they get caught.

    But they are not Nicoliatans.

Those independents are really a Cult with a Cult Leader. Not a hierarchy structure of clergy over laity.

Those leaders aren't about to cede/share power to anyone else.

Religion gives most people a sense of hope. Many of us look to religion for answers, guidance, a sense of structure. Many of us believe in God. Many of us believe in The Great Spirit. Providing proof can be a two-way street, so to speak. Atheists or whatevers want us to show proof. Look around. There's your proof. Something had to make all this. What exactly? That will be a question you will be asking yourselves for a long time. Show us proof... Show us proof that a higher being doesn't exist. Science? What if that being created the science you follow? Now is your time to shine, give us proof that a higher power doesn't exist. I'm willing to learn and listen.

I think at this time one should stop and think about what they are claiming to be "religion".

Belief in a higher being (beings), or an omnipotent all controlling entity is an entirely personal matter that requires no religious affiliation whatsoever. Nor does belief in the afterlife, heaven or hell, or nirvana.

If believing in "god" gives you solace, or strength, or just peace of mind, then by all means, please believe, you have my full support and respect.

If, in order to function, you need some organization to dictate to you how you should live your life, well, you have my sympathies.

the Burden of Proof is not to try to prove something doesn't exist, its to prove it exist.

I am an atheist who does not understand the concept of a God older than time, with a great power of creation and an existence beyond time. But I have seen many people find comfort in their religion, I have seen the blind faith of those people and I have seen their comfort when there was no comfort left. Therefore, I do not believe in religion, but I respect religion. My personal view of life is more scientific than religious.

I was thinking ing about this today first I don't thinknim breaking any rule as well I'm not mentioning age here, but I think I bring up some interesting things, with religion you seem to see abuse, like say with Catholicism there's so many molesters and stories of it... yet you look into the whole phase of nude swimming from 1910 at the ymca to a school/pond/body of water, there is none, no big explosion of people admiting that coach touched them, why is this? It cannot be that the nude ones just didn't remember,

it's a vary odd coincidence you would think being naked would put a target on their back, maybe it's because coaches sometimes would also get naked maybe 30% of the time, the true people with no good on mind were afraid they'd be seen? It really is kinda peculiar, hell homophobia and pedophilia was part of why nude swimming died at schools, I think it mostly died at the ymca was because woman can't seem to stand men having their own place, just look at boy scouts, but even in scouts you have people busted, there must be some reason, is it mainly religion? I doubt it, but it is interesting and comes up a lot, I could see punishment at say an all boys catholic/insert type school, being same sex there would be more of a chance for say them to be sent back to the dorms in the nude back in the day, sadly the dorms were no innocent place, people have reported assault by their own classmates, I have yet to read a story like "males travelling to swimming hole abducted" as I've read that yes you could once travel from home to the swimming hole or river or creek with just a towel around your arm and nobody would bat an eye, nowadays nudity is so rare... you would get pulled over possibly charged.

Does anyone else have a feeling that religion really had negative effects on nudity, made it more sexualised, sure parents thought well now that nude swimming has stopped I feel they are safer but nope, I've heard some people say a woman in bikini is sexual mores then a nude one, nude there is nothing left to the imagination, bikini, you can't see all putting curiosity in people's minds, was it something like that? All the perverts saw everything so never did anything like even say showering after pe, sure some have been busted, but it's not wide common, with religion it teaches you shame, to cover up even if nothing's showing while in undies, and more boys nowadays are, wrapping towels around themselvethatsc

really the only answer I can give, the more exposed to actual nudity, the less abuse, don't ask me how this works, but I think so, society has become so indrenched in fear and like pedophobia that it's having the reverse effect, the bible teaches abstinence yet well you know the ages people say in poor areas, the more prudish we become, the more there is temptation

There is however this sort of stoicism during the time, men were not to be seen as bashful or shy about their body and given any privacy maybe it was just not as common as in religion it happened while with religion there's stigma, maybe that stigma attracts bad people? But yes either it seems strange that with modern eyes people think is insane and creepy seems to have no reports of inappropriate behaviour bar the old fasioned horseplay, while in church it was and is fine happened

Tl;dr is prudish behaviour and religion only creates more perverts and sexually suppressed people leading to more sex crime? As coz there were hardly reports of it where people did nude swimming

Personally, I do not believe that religion has any special and concrete relation to nudity or clothing. Some religions impose strict clothing and not only in places dedicated to their worship, as the Catholic religion does, but also in people's daily lives, especially repressive clothing in the case of women, covering them completely without respecting women's freedom of choice and even imposing severe punishments when they do not comply with the strict rules of dress imposed by that religion by force.

I am an atheist and I would not be comfortable being unclothed in front of everyone in the swimming pool of my housing estate.

If we talk about clothes and nudity, who really imposes its daily use is society itself, because every day in our society, fortunately and especially for women, we have more freedom to decide what clothes to wear and when to wear them. Maybe it is the education received, education understood in general about the need to wear clothes, but it is an education more related to society than to religion.

I also do not believe that religion has a direct connection with acts of sexual violence, because if that were the motivation in countries without religion there would be no such crimes, just as there would be no such crimes in non-Catholic schools.

My opinion is that this violence exists because women are still seen as sexual objects, an image that is prolonged and strengthened over time and through advertising (Is it necessary to have a half naked woman to sell a car?), films and especially the feeling that in order to succeed a man must fuck many women and many old myths that still make men not understand that when a woman says NO it is NO, but that does not directly attack their masculinity, which is never in their head, but between their legs and they feel offended.

Anyway, at least in Spain, there are places where people can bathe naked, i.e. nudist beaches and closed nudist swimming pools for the winter, so whoever has that desire has enough places to make it come true.

My final opinion is that it is not the clothes or the person who causes the offence, but that the offence is in the mind of the offender who does not respect others in their freedom to choose who they want to have sex with.

Sexual violence could have something to do with society and woman, like even though I'm young I'm honestly disgusted with today's music videos it's like softcore porn, then at the same time they will censor a bum on TV even though if you haven't seen one before there's something wrong, but that doesn't really explain male sexual violence, so who knows, either way I think as a society having nakedness seen as sexualnes a bad thing, but I'm a nudist so yeah.. probably goes a lot deeper, like how molestation victims are far more likely to offend themselves then the average person

The United Nations defines violence against women as "any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual or psychological harm to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life".

    Associated factors are:

    1) Low cultural level.
    2) Child abuse.
    3) Witnessing scenes of family violence.
    4) Alcohol abuse.
    5) Social norms that grant privileges or a higher status to men and a lower status to women.
    6) Laws that discriminate against women.
    7) Men's controlling behaviours towards women.
    8) Male belief in the honour of the family and the sexual purity of women.
    9) Ideologies that enshrine men's sexual privileges.

In all three of those posts, a religious aspect does come into play.

In two of the worlds largest religions, Muslim and Hindu, generate attacks on women, both physically and physiologically more
than any non-religious or atheistic society.

Muslim- women are beneath men, not allowed an education, forced marriage, forced clothing. All the while the men have no restrictions.

Hindu-women raped without justice, forced marriage and the sharing of the wife for sex forced upon her, those 2 things alone are the max of atrocities.

All of these laws and views of women being inferior and are only for the men's use and abuse are religiously based ideologies, doctrine and dogma.

I would just add I feel that it often these views that add to an unhealthy mix of women freedoms and rights, while enforcing unhealthy sexual practices between men and women.

    Riots sparked because of this.
Death imposed because of not covering your hair (they claim it was a heart attack, but the world knows better).

Muslim's seems to be split into a few categories. The categories that are the most demeaning to women are the Traditional and the Fundamentalist. The Tradition tend to deny Rights to women, but the Fundamentalist will outright abuse women. I would say Saudi Arabia is Traditional, where as Iran and Afghanistan are Fundamentalist. A country like Egypt made significant strides on treating women until a certain American woman got involved. Muslim countries in Southeast Asia seems to be more progressive, so it may mean its a combination of region and religion.
