Actually kolrabi is a very firm vegetable that has to be cooked to make it soft and moist. I sorta grew up on the stuff.

I've used it in my stir fry for years. I also like the bulb cut into pieces and salted.

I never thought to use it in a stir fry.

You can slice them into "french fries form", cover it with egg and then bread crumbs .... then stir fry it in hot oil. Make sure to put them on kitchen paper towels to get rid of the leftover fat on the sticks.

    Woods or forest?

I think that 'woods' refers more to thhe foliage aspect, and 'forest' more to the lumber aspect.

But then when you go "Down-under", we call the woods or forest "the bush".....although the national Parks are called Forests, such as the Kiangaroa State Forest, or the Balangalo State Forest.

So if you add 'jungle' to the mix, they're essentially all words for groups of 'trees' just differrent types of trees. (?)

Woods - What you play in when you're growing up. - Pretty much any group of trees between 1 -500 acres.

Forest - Treed area of 1000 acres or more. - Treed area of land that has mountains in it.

    (per an Ohioan's dialect).
