Yes, that's what I was wondering too, but according to SW apparently not.

    That would be "counter revolutionary".

Like I said, it's all cosmetic... for it to function typically, one part would be stationary, one part would be the input for power, and the other would be the output. Most transmissions (especially automatics in particular not including CVT) use a collection of planetary gears to transfer power from engine to wheels.

It can be used to increase torque, but sacrifice speed, or can increase speed at the expense of torque.

Here's an image of the input going into the sun gear with the ring stationary: The output is transferred to the planet gears (oreos) and turn the carriage plate slower but with more torque.

Here's one going the opposite way increasing speed but with less force:

Here's one with the carriage plate stationary. Assuming power input is applied to the center, the sun gear goes a full circle, but the ring only goes around halfway, but it would have twice the force. The planets (Oreos) go around twice. If the input was applied to the ring, the sun would spin twice as fast, but at half the power.

This would be typically used in a transmission with power applied to the ring. Here is how it would be applied in a manual three-speed transmission with reverse.

Oh, sure ... that's easy for you to say ! [IMG] Nice stuff, thanks. [IMG]

This one apparently has 92 gears - makes my head spin - have fun. [IMG]

Was it that difficult to follow? I thought I simplified it enough for at least surface understanding. Apply power and it goes faster with less force or slower with more force....

As for the gear planet... It just makes the world go round. Thanks for sharing.
Same thing could be said with TIME magazine when they did their photo cover of OJ Simpson...

I'm more impressed with some of the deepfakes now and days...

The amount of deception in the media is astonishing. And sadly, we're coming to take it for granted.

The Ponzo Illusion: Which Car is the biggest ?

They are IDENTICAL - take a ruler and measure.

The Ponzo illusion is created by our brain judging an object’s size based by its perceived distance. The brain places the car into context with its surroundings. The third car is further away (in perspective) so therefore it appears to look larger.

The Ames Room Illusion : What in the ? .. but… How ?

The Ames Room illusion disrupts our depth perception. It’s created by slanting the back wall towards the camera and the ceiling slanted down. However, from one vantage point, the room looks like a normal room. It is one of the best optical illusions out there.
