Can't ever imagine that being the case...

 

Legality is just one part of the problem. Even where incest is legal, there is still so much prejudices against people who do it. I think like women and LGBT+ people we will have to fight for our rights.

 

I think cousin incest should be more widely accepted

 

On France and Belgium it is legal. There was even a right wing concervative that was known to be married to her cousin (Christine Boutin)

 

She only have a civil marriage, because church refuse to marry her on the ground of consanguinity, that's quite funny when that kind of thing arrive to this type of fundamentalist Catholic politician, very puritan and conservative.

It actually is, most of the world doesn't have that much issue with cousins, especially when you get to 2nd or 3rd cousins. First cousins it is hit or miss.

I think the more common it becomes the more likely it is to be made legal between adults.

 

As tech advances and we can take more proactive control over reproduction and gene manipulation down the the level of the masses to include a good chunk of the impoverished -- the odds go up still a long way off though

There is no legal reason to ban incest. There are religious reason (even though the Bible has a number of incest cases), but they still fall flat.

 

In the west it will be by 2050. The only places it won't take off in are maybe western european countries that institute sharia law. But even that is hard to predict. It is inevitable that they will eventually become majority Muslim countries but we need more long term data to see whether or not secular republics can corrupt muslims enough to accept things such as incest. If it does that would be amazing.

It's not something that requires public lobbying. It just requires morality to slip in other areas. The LGBTQ Gay Parade is actually going to be our biggest ally regardless of whether they realize it or not.
