Look at Venice, Italy. Soon it will be submerged under water.

Do you know why Venice is sinking? Likely the same reason we see sinkholes in Florida. It is not on "solid ground". The ground under it is like swiss cheese. That fills with water and the space between the holes collapse. Is the Sea Level rising. Not super fast. Is there water in ground areas there were not 20 years ago? Yes.

Majority of the people in Florida get their water from wells. Draining the ground water is a major factor in the sink hole formation there. In the UK it's due to abandoned mines that houses are being built on. Also Venice is built on clay sediments that formed those islands that every thing is built on. As you can imagine, clay is not the most stable base to build upon. (Especially when surrounded by water)

Yes but I'm not sure if it's because of mankind.

I believe in climate change but I don't think we can do anything about it. People are too selfish to care.

New Orleans is sinking also. A good piece of it is below sea level. If it wasn't for human engineering, the Mississippi river wouldn't even flow through it anymore, it naturally wants to form a new delta further west. And yes, the sea level is rising, slowly, which makes life even more difficult.
But as brolover pointed out, other than the people in New Orleans, nobody else gives a toss.

How could you not believe in climate change? There is definitive evidence that it exists.

Even the skeptics agree there is climate change going on, has for eons.
The argument is whether it is man made or natural.

It's natural. We're just along for the ride. As well as all the other creatures of God's creation. After all didn't God cause the Ice Age? So now He/She decided to undo it.

techie76 conservatism isn't compatible with a free society

The climate change scuttlebutt isn't really about whether it's real or not, or whose science is correct or not.
It's ultimately about imposing yet another tax on people just simply for existing.

A carbon tax to go along with death tax, inheritance tax, property tax, health tax, etc.
Governments have found all kinds of ways to make sure that from the moment a person wakes up in the morning that they owe someone somewhere just because they woke up and aren't dead yet.

It's merely a way of saying "You're not as free as you think you are, or would like to be."
Yet those who impose the taxes are unaffected by their existence since they're richer than god.

That's all the hooey about climate change will lead to - ultimately. A carbon tax on a per individual basis.

    No ,

This is real and it is happening.
We are now already seeing uneven and disturbed monsoon cycles with some part seeing massive floods and some see no rainfall at all disrupting agriculture overall

    My opinion, you're quite right.
The other argument would be, regardless of causality, is there really that much we can do about it?
    (Other than cope?)
