Essentially the right to bear arms was for "we the people" to defend themselves against dictatorial governments. Biden and Harris and their communist puppet masters are certainly that! And of course criminals will always get guns. I've only become a supporter of the Second Amendment, for the Americans since Biden come to power.

There are numerous stories about how someone averted, thwarted, retaliated against an armed intruder or accoster
with a personal firearm and kept themselves and their loved ones safe and un-harmed during the crime.

You just don't see it in the reports of the main stream media. Check other sources other than the fake news broadcasters.

NYC is in the top two cities of murder in the USA. Chicago is 1st and they have strict gun laws like NYC.
Check the reports yourself, you'll see it's true.
In both cities, possession of a firearm on oneself is illegal.

Chicago 500
NYC 419

No other city in the USA has those numbers who allow sidearm carry.

You have a right not to carry a sidearm in order to defend yourself against a knife-wielding robber, so
please don't try to stop me from having the right to defend myself with a sidearm.

If we both faced a mugging, which one of us has better chance to come out unscathed?
I do!
(yes, I know how to handle a sidearm, I used to teach personal protection classes involving the use of firearms,
both in and out of the home)

I believe there is a joke in this forum about a liberal, a conservative, and a Texan who encounter a mugger.
Search for it, you'll see it's really not a joke but a little more true to real life than you would want to admit.

The integer argument on highest death cities. NYC is 419 per capita or that was the total gun deaths in a year? If it is 419 total? That is a per capita under 1 per 100k.

There are cities around the world where owning and possessing a side arm is legal and the murder rates
are far below what they are here in the states.
We have become an un-Godly country wherein disagreements are handled physically.

That is especially true with our elected officials. The democrats quickly attack anyone who holds a different
viewpoint. Not with fists of course, but with mudslinging and false criminal charges.

But that is just it. Using total numbers is misleading. Per capita shows "as a % of comparable population". Total numbers makes a place with 8.5 million and 419 gun deaths seem "dangerous" and a place with 15k people and 15 "so much safer".

I also think that that everyone has right to protect themself and theirs.

Where I come from, our gun laws are strict, but still justice system recognize when using firearms are acceptable against other people.

Good example happened last year. Old man, over 80 years old. Living alone and who was known enthusiastic hunter and firearms hobbyist was attacked by
three young men, in order to steal his guns. They were armed knives and crowbars. They got bit of suprise as old man fought back. One of the youngster went to beat up the man as other went for the guns.
Well, old man managed to disarm and pretty much beat up the one who came for him, and piece up a hand gun he was cleaning, as he has been shooting at local range.
Opened fire to the youngsters as they ranned away hitting one of them non-lethaly. Boys ofcourse later tried to sue the old man for unnessesary use of force, but court was unanimous that
old man faced great danger to his health and property that his use of firearms was justified. Old man went free and the boys to jail.

Gun registration always leads to confiscation. The government will always try to gain more and more control of its people.

You realize that armed citizens have already stopped mass shootings on more than a few occasions right? And the little made up scenario in your head didn't happen.

Several mass shooting attempts were stopped by an armed bystander that I know of. The point is that there was very little publicity of these incidents. . . . No bodies, no blood, no grieving family . . . NO BIG NEWS STORY! (ie, "If it bleeds, it leads.")
Many people believe exactly as you do, based on the information they are exposed to.
