Jaime,

Hi! This is freescott (yes, the original author of the novellization of A Dream Come True). I stopped writing the story when some personal and professional issues came into my life (I lost my job). I'm still not able to resume serious writing so I can't say I would ever finish the story but it was nice of someone to tie up the ending.

I enjoyed your version of the threads I left dangling. The tragic ending was a surprise. It was not the way I was going to take the story but since I disavowed any rights to the story when I stopped you were (and are) perfectly free to write anything you wish. Bravo on staying true to the characters!

If anyone is interested here is a brief synopsis of my largely disorganized thoughts on the future of Amanda, John, Jen and all their friends. Some of the earlier events are more fleshed out than the later thoughts.

When Amanda is a few months pregnant she and John are in a horrific car crash. Amanda and the baby are okay but John is taken by helicopter to the hospital. Amanda calls Jen and while they are there Jen learns about the baby. She sees how distraught Amanda is over John's condition and realizes how much the girl is in love with her father. That realization and the baby combine to change Jen's attitude (which has been slowly changing anyway). She still feels bad about losing John. Jen hates losing at anything, but she accepts that Amanda is a better partner for John. She doesn't reveal her new feelings right away. I was thinking that Jen would learn about the baby when John wakes up. Jen has sent Amanda to get something to eat. She is alone with him. John opens his eyes and is in a panic. He screams 'Where is Amanda? Is she okay? Is the baby okay?'

Amanda's pregnancy provides a number of ways to recall characters and scenes from earlier. As Amanda's belly gets big and it is plainly obvious she is 'with child' her old social studies teacher, Ms. Greene, renews her attempt at getting people upset about Amanda and John's relationship. Cloe and Sam throw Amanda a baby shower (which lets us see them argue about the wisdom of Amanda having John's baby again). Elaine helps the younger girls plan the shower and it is the first time all of Amanda's worlds (her school friends, people from work, the country club and of course Carol Parker) come together.

Amanda gives birth to a baby boy (sorry, Jaime, I knew all along it was going to be a boy). They name him John Carmicheal Jr. and call him Jack. Amanda struggles to be a 'super mom' and almost does it but keeping up
with midnight feedings and trying to be John's partner is a bit much even for her. Jen steps in and helps, giving Amanda a chance to rest and then offering to watch her grandson so John and Amanda can go out. She tells her daughter that Jack needs his parents to stay together. Jen lost John because she did not take the relationship problems seriously until it was too late. She doesn't want that to happen to her daughter. This is Jen's final surrender to Amanda and John's unstoppable love.

Amanda finishes highschool. The school has a daycare for students and faculty and this gives us a lot of chances for Amanda to show off her son in the school setting. She also goes back to work at WCL, this time as an official Executive Intern. Previously she was informally John's assistant. Now she actually works for one of the other senior staff. She and John still spend a lot of work time together. She doesn't travel with him much because of Jack.

Cloe gets pregnant late in their senior year. She and Martin move into an
apartment. Sam's mother finds out about her intimate relationship with Jake and after a huge argument Sam leaves. Jake's parents invite her to move in with Jake at their house. Elaine has a second baby. Carol Parker gets cancer.

John takes Amanda to the senior prom. Jen takes a bunch of pictures of the happy couple and pictures of them with their son. Cloe and Martin announce their engagement. John and Amanda offer to host the wedding at their house (which has been extensively remodeled). After the prom they go to the same hotel where they first made love. Amanda conceives their second child that night.

This is probably were the story would have ended but I had numerous ideas about the future lives of John, Amanda, Jen, Jack and all their friends and associates.

Amanda graduates valedictorian. She and John host a big graduation party at their house. She is just starting to show on her second pregnancy. She has decided not to go to college just yet. With her second child on the way she doesn't think she'll have the time, especially with two very exciting projects she wants to accomplish.

Ever since Elaine had her second child, Amanda has learned how hard it is for most people to get quality, dependable child care. It is not an issue for
her and John because Jack stays with his Nana (Jen) while they are at work. Amanda has decided to start a day care/pre-school. WCL has grown and their offices are moving to new space in the same building (which John and Amanda have purchased as an investment). She rents the old space and hires a staff. The day care is called 'Little Executives'.

The other project is that WCL's parent corporation has decided to spin off the company. John will be the CEO, Alexander will be Chairman of the Board. There will be a huge IPO that fall. Amanda, in her role as executive intern, is very involved in setting up the change.

Amanda's second child is a girl she names Jenna after her mom.

The day care is a huge success and eventually Amanda sets up franchises across the country. This makes Amanda very wealthy in her own right.

The new WCL quickly becomes one of the most profitable companies in the world. Under John's leadership the stock goes sky high. This makes John a billionaire. Amanda is now the assistant director of new ventures and is a major part of the success. She also has made a ton of money from her work at WCL. She and John again travel a lot together. They own a very high end business jet with a private stateroom for them.

Carol Parker dies after a long struggle with cancer. Her death hits Amanda very hard. Carol had become like a second mother to her. William offers to sell the place in Hawaii to John and Amanda. John thinks Amanda would not want it because it would be like profiting from Carol's death but Amanda does want it. She sees it as a way to keep her mentor's memory alive.

Amanda goes to college after a hiatus of about two years. She finishes in three years with a 3.9GPA taking as many on-line courses as she can. She makes a few college friends but is mostly still close to her high school friends and the people she's met at work and the country club.

Jake gets help with his dyslexia and goes to college. He becomes a teacher. He and Sam are engaged and will get married 'some day' but there are no plans. Cloe and Martin have a second child.

Amanda becomes Chair of the Women's Auxiliary at the country club. She also becomes a major socialites. Her dinner parties are legendary for the mix of guests and superb food. She and John cultivate a select group of important and influential people. These people 'understand' the special relationship the two have and help them stop a number of potential scandals from getting in the way.

Amanda and John have four more children over the years, Ellie, Wills, Samantha and Eric. They continue to be passionate lovers and share every part of their lives.

Jen gains significant recognition as an amature athlete. She spends most of her time at home with her grandchildren but also travels around the world to various competitions.

John is asked to join numerous corporate boards.

Amanda and John found a charitable trust that Amanda runs.

Their children attend Northridge Academy. Jack goes to the Naval Academy then becomes a naval aviator and eventually an admiral.

Jenna and Jack fall in love during his senior year. Their parents are cautiously supportive. Jenna goes to work at WCL while Jack is at Annapolis. She then moves out to his first posting where she becomes a typical navy wife (as far as most people know). Jack and Jenna had three children.

Ellie follows her grandmother into the world of sports. She goes to the olympics where she competes in track and field. She wins a gold and two silver medals.

Will becomes a musician. He goes on tour with a band and makes a bunch of popular recordings. He wins several Grammy awards. His girlfriend is a famous movie star.

Samantha joins WCL after college as an Executive Trainee. She marries her boyfriend form highschool who becomes a stay at home dad for their two children.

Eric is the exact image of his dad. He is still in school.

When John retires everyone expects Amanda to become CEO of WCL but she surprises them by retiring as well. She has no interest in her career once John is not there. They spend their time traveling, visiting their children and enjoying each other.

Good to hear from you, freescott. I'm glad that you approve of my ending (I think!!!). I posted the ending two years ago.

I was wondering whether to continue the story when Amanda's children bacame sexually active, but having read your outline, I won't go ahead, because obviously our stories would be totally different.

Sorry I got the sex of their first baby wrong!!
