Dunkirk. Liked it. Not one of Nolan's best but still quite good.

This is one movie that I'd like to see. And it is a part of WW2 that the US of A had NO involvement in? Or was it that WW2 didn't really start until 1914 Dec 07? (It wasn't a WORLD War until then?)

    Cheers

A terrific movie from Clint Eastwood, Starring Tom Hanks, about an incident that happened on 15 Jan 2009. I had an ending that could not have come out better:

Pilots train for bad incidents, but never for things like this.

Dunkirk evacuation took place in May, 1940 and mostly consisted of British, French and Belgium troops.

Yes Guest7, I'm well aware of that. I was being sarcastic about it. There was a recent film about how clever the US was in being able to capture an Unterseeboot of the Kreigsmarine during WW2 and were able to acquire all of the secrets of the German Cipher. It was quite a heroic effort. Only trouble is, at that stage of WW2 the US was not involved other than to give Britain equipment through the Lend Lease. It Was all American Hollywood B.S. The real heroes were the British Royal Navy who did all of that. And they already had a pretty fair idea anyway.

But of course, the Americans will always have you believe that they are the great saviours of the free world.

    Cheers
