    Those probes have gone where no man has gone before - and who knows what kinds of life forms may exist there ?

    But seriously, I think that this is an important achievement. Because now, those human-made objects are out there in the universe at large.

    And if there are other beings out there who are explorers, one of them may some day come across an artifact which represents the sum total of mankind's capabilities at the time it was constructed.

    They will learn a lot more about us as well, from the Voyager Interstellar Record stashed on board :
