    The requirement for trusted status was raised from 5 to 10 posts.
    You had less than 10 posts so your account was demoted.
    Unfortunately the forum software doesn't have an option to stop the automatic demotions.
    I did post warnings about the pending change in September, October, November, and December.
    Based on the major increase in posts it looks like very few members took preemptive action.

    The spam posting and hand wringing by lurkers is comical.

    Posts should be judged by content, and the requirements for participation should be continual.

    I'm new here, and I'm looking at members and exploring the forum and loving it. I noticed though, that there are members who haven't been active for a long time but still seem to appear. Could inactive members be removed after about 6 months or so? Is it possible or not that easy?

    Sometimes those folks come back after a break of months, and quite a few have been good members and are quite well known to others on here. So just because they have not been constantly active, does not mean that they are no longer going to be active on here again.

    Since we can't run security and background checks for prospective members we use other methods to weed out problem makers. This vetting is done before allowing full access to the forum. We require some sample posts and a waiting period.

    Over time this forum has been able to reduced the requirements to gain trusted status from 45days/15posts to 10days/5posts. We now find that we need more sample posts. We may eventually require a longer waiting period.

    For a point of reference. Our friends at Spacefucker require either 20days/100posts or 20days/30posts/25likes for similar access.
