I had to throw a Bernie Bro out of class this week. We were talking election law and he was screaming how Bernie lost due to "fraud". Insisting that IL (R run state), AZ (R run state), etc were "fixed by the DNC!".

A note. If the Rs run the state, THEY make the election rules at the state level. ie. They decide the open polling hours and locations (AZ got caught playing games in one area with closures to save money, dominantly in a D area).

Simple solution. We need to pass a "Not insured for the medical care at the ER you are using as primary care physician? Well........ we cant help you. We only take cash up front and insurance here."

With the exceptions of major injury (shot, stabbed, life threat in general). And those are "Non Discharged" under Bankruptcy.

When you look at medicine in the U.S., everything seems to be rising in cost. This is not completely true. There are two sectors of medicine where the cost is dropping. These two sectors are those which normally are not covered by Health Insurance, they are Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Vision Correction. Because the government did not step in and try to take control of these procedure and because they are mostly considered elective surgeries so not normally covered by Health Insurance the prices and costs for them has continually dropped. I remember when Lasix was first introduced the costs were $5,000 to $7,500 per eye. Now a days I've seen Lasix advertised for $1,500 for both eyes. Similar price reductions have occurred for Cosmetic Surgeries also, for example face lifts and breast enhancements have come way down in price. Maybe if the government changed the regulations on the rest of medicine maybe we might see similar reductions in health cost.

If you know that someone is going to guarantee the price you are asking for something, there is nothing stopping you from raising prices until they won't guarantee them.

That is why college costs so much. The govt. is going to back the costs of tuition, so might as well charge as much as you can.

A big difference between Socialism and Capitalism is that, Socialism is a Zero Sum Game and Capitalism is not.

If you want to compare and contrast Capitalism vs. Socialism, Communism, etc. in real time, just look at the Koreas. South Korea- Capitalism. North Korea- Communism.

And neither is socialism. Because. No matter how many times people scream is it? Socialism is not Communism. Socialism is SS and Medicare. Communism, by definition, is government owns means of production. Definitions are not fluid. "Opinion" does not matter. Mostly, and this one is a rail against people from Cuba and Soviet Era E. Europe I know. Don't care that you grew up in X. Communism is a ECONOMIC THEORY. Russia? China? NK? Cuba? Their political is Dictatorship, not Communism. I really have people who came over from Cuba and E Europe tell me the fact that they grew up there means the actual definitions are wrong and THEY are right.

    According to Mirriam Webster:

    Definition of socialism

    1. any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
    2. 2a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private propertyb : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state

    Definition of communism
    1. 1a : a theory advocating elimination of private propertyb : a system in which goods are owned in common and are available to all as needed
    2. 2 capitalized a : a doctrine based on revolutionary Marxian socialism and Marxism-Leninism that was the official ideology of the U.S.S.R.b : a totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state-owned means of productionc : a final stage of society in Marxist theory in which the state has withered away and economic goods are distributed equitablyd : communist systems collectively
I don't see much difference in the 2. And the democratic party wants a one party system they have said so. http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/220209/democrats-war-two-party-system-arnold-ahlert

Where did you find that definition set. Because 5 different google searches all yielded a definition that says the "community as a whole" not government for socialism. And no mention of "no private property". Think Israeli Kibbutzes vs Russia.

Interesting. Because 2 on Communism is not Communism. When you reference Authoritarian Government "a totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state-owned means of production" you are playing 1950s us vs them in the definition. That is not a Communist Government. That is a TOTALITARIAN GOVERNMENT who also practices Communism. And no. I could not care a bit less that it is from a dictionary. If you reference another form of government in the definition of why it is a form of Government? The definition failed. That is like defining Capitalism the same way because some Totalitarian and Authoritarian Governments ALSO practice that.

Just like "no rules market shall decide" capitalism. Great on paper, horrid the moment a human is added to it.

"The market shall decide" has an idea that is not reality. That all competitors are total enemies who will attack each other on sight and would never DREAM of things like price fixing. Want proof? Look at Bank Fees. "Market shall" tells us BOA creates a fee (almost always starts with BOA) the others would go out of their way to not have that fee. Fast Forward 6 months. They all usually adopt that fee too. Another great example is Game Systems. Notice how they are the same price everywhere? And before you say it, I am talking about system alone. No extra controllers or games that the STORE gives free to make is seem cheaper. Because Sony dictates that they will sell for exactly X. No more no less. Tell me what rule, law or regulation makes them do that.
