    In simple terms, it's a bunion that went bad. And there's a crew in London who developed 'minimally invasive surgery' to essentially suck it out.

    (Having a bunion can sound comical - like having a hernia. Had one of those fixed myself - not fun.)

    And to help with her therapy, I got her a pair of Birdkenstocks :
